Care Free Living plans to finish renovation of its three low income senior housing facilities in Lincoln County by August 31. The three are Care Free Living Caliente with 20 units, Care Free Living Panaca with 20 units, and Care Free Living Pioche with 12 units. All are one bedroom apartments. The Caliente units are all currently full, but there are four available units in Panaca and likely will be five available in Pioche. The projects were built in the early 1980’s and financed through USDA Rural Development. All units are subsidized by USDA RD Rental Assistance. Because of the rental assistance rents can vary with income and are currently ranging from -$96 (for utility allowances) to $450. The combination of renovation and rental assistance make these units some of the best deals in the state for qualifying households.

Amenities include free Wi-Fi, computer rooms, washers and dryers on-site (only 50 cents per load!) and covered parking. The apartments have received energy efficiency upgrades, security upgrades, refurbishment of all surfaces, new roofing and installation of solar power energy generation.
