Yerington Manor, Yerington – Applications Being Accepted!

The shortage of affordable housing across America is especially a concern for rising numbers of the outsized Baby Boomer generation searching for smaller homes while maintaining their independence.  For the 73 million Americans born in the decade after WWII, times have changed at a rapid pace from the days for black and white TV’s to now hand-held computer phones. And now with the current rise of rents and lack of available units, plans for a peaceful retirement can become stressful for many seniors and their family members.

Our mission to promote, provide and finance affordable housing for all rural Nevadans ensures the continued availability of homes for our seniors to enhance their quality of life in a safe, clean, affordable home.

One special community in the center Nevada is the Yerington Manor apartment complex. Along the quiet, tree-lined streets of this small town surrounded by farmland, residents enjoy independent living and friendly neighbors. Within walking distance is the local park with a stocked fishing pond, senior center and fully staffed hospital, plus grocery stores, pharmacies and yes, even the local casino, are just a short drive away.

Yerington Manor offers one-bedroom, ground level apartments for seniors 62 years and over and/or handicapped or disabled persons, regardless of age. Originally built in 1979 (Manor I), 1989 (Manor II) and 1995 (Manor III) this community was renovated in 2004. Financing was provided by HUD and USDA Rural Development with project based rental assistance programs.

Amenities include fully accessible, lighted concrete pathways connecting units to parking spaced, barbecue area and community center with laundry facility, library and computer access.  Additional amenities include air conditioning in all units and onsite property management.
