Renovation work finishing on Plaza at 4th Street

Northern Nevada Community Housing (NNCH) plans a grand opening in June for the Plaza at 4th Street affordable housing project in Reno. Conversion of commercial space will add 22 more units for a new total of 72 studio, one and two bedroom apartments. The 22 new studio units will all be fully furnished with utilities included. The site will provide permanent, supportive housing with wrap around services for homeless and extremely low-income households. On-site and near-by supportive services will help residents improve their financial and personal situations. The property is one of the first in Nevada to use National Trust Funds to help fund housing set-asides for extremely low income residents.

Amenities include gated entry, on-site management, play area, an exercise room and a community room. A bus stop serving four routes lies directly in front of the property and the main terminal is only ½ mile away.  Many community services are available within one mile of the property as well as churches, small retail grocery stores, restaurants, the Truckee River path and the Ace’s Baseball Stadium. A food pantry will serve residents once a month.

NNCH is a non-profit Community Housing Development Organization whose mission it is to develop, own and manage high-quality affordable housing coupled with supportive services. NNCH currently owns and manages seventeen affordable properties in Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Fernley.
