New Allegiance Affordable Apartments Open In Las Vegas

Allegiance Apartments Now Open

Allegiance Apartments opened on September 13, 2019 providing 49 units of new affordable veteran’s preference housing.  Accessible Space, Inc., known nationwide for their work providing affordable supportive housing for people with disabilities, developed the site and will be professionally managing it.  Located on the corner of S Mojave Road and Pecos McLeod Interconnect in Paradise Township in unincorporated Clark County, Allegiance Apartments is conveniently close to restaurants, banks, supportive services, grocery stores, a place of worship and the Pecos McLeod Trailhead.

Forty-eight of the units are one bedroom units. Thirteen of the units are fully wheelchair accessible for residents with physical disabilities. The accessible units include wheel-in showers, adjustable closet shelves, roll-under counters, cook-tops and sinks, kitchen counter-edge outlets and oven fan controls, and other features that maximize wheelchair accessibility. Ten of the new units are set aside for residents with extremely low incomes.  A Resident Service Coordinator will help coordinate both onsite and offsite supportive services as well as social activities. The building’s common areas are also designed to maximize wheelchair accessibility including features such as push-plate power assisted doors, in-path accessible elevator call-buttons and accessible pneumatic trash chutes. Indoor common area amenities include a dining room with warming kitchen, community meeting rooms, library/lounge, computer lab, exercise room, indoor therapeutic spa and laundry rooms. Outdoor amenities include a barbeque area with accessible picnic tables, shuffleboard court, and walking path. The property is an Energy Star rated development with numerous energy saving appliances in use, high R-value insulation and photovoltaic solar cells on the carport roofs providing over 10% of the electricity for the development.

Extensive supportive services will be coordinated and provided to qualifying residents both directly and through partnership with local and state service agencies as well as the Veterans Administration.  ASI’s Nevada Community Enrichment Program will provide on-site health and wellness services and adult education classes at no cost to residents.  Qualifying veterans and other disabled residents may receive home care services through Nevada Medicaid waiver programs.
